What’s Going On…

organizer

Hello to all my wonderful and creative readers,

I wanted to start with a huge apology for my long MIA, life was and still, a bit is, crazy 😀 I really wanted to write an update post, just to let you know what’s going on with my life.

mom-48958_1280For those of you who haven’t read my previous posts, my mom left her home and entered a retirement home at the start of July. Now, after almost 2 weeks, I think she is slowly getting the hang of things and how the place works.

It’s a small and very beautiful place, just by a river (pics will come later) and the staff is very kind and nice to her. There are still some bits we need to work out, regarding her medication and her gluten-free diet, but other than that I think she likes the place and likes being there (for as much as a person can like being at a home, lol).

I am trying to be with her every day so I can see how things are running there, fix some issues that may arise (and a few already have) and just hang out with her ❤

sun

Summer… ((Sigh)). I miss winter, the rain and cold…

I’m mostly out and about these days, less at home (in the AC as I love to be) and this heat doesn’t help at all with all the running and driving, lol, but I do try to keep myself cool and drink a lot of water 😉

Housework

Housework Omg.  This is the only word that can explain in what a mess my house is in, lol. I really need an entire week, lol, just for cleaning and organizing.

Coffee n’ Notes… Well… As you all know, lol, I took this past couple of weeks away from the blog (popping here and there) and I just wanted to say how sorry I am to miss all your wonderful posts.

I have missed you all so much

I missed blogging (like the Friday Musing), reading your thoughts and your creative posts, more than I can say. I was so exhausted that I came home ate and went to sleep, lol. This week, however, is going to be less stressful (I think. I hope, lol) so I will post every day, prepare to be spammed, lol.

If you read my newsletter, then you now that tomorrow is Monday and it’s time for my Fav Five 😀 I am very excited about this segment and I hope you will like it too 🙂

Btw, my July newsletter is going out on the 20th and inside I have a new feature, so sign-up so you won’t miss anything 😉

Writing/Editing… Hmmm…

This one is hard as there was no editing at all this month. With all that is happening, I just can’t sit down and edit. I have tried a few times, but I just can’t. So, I have decided to let it go for now and not put more stress on an already stressful month.

Even though I haven’t edited at all this month, if you read my newsletter then you know that I have been writing, just to let those creative juices keep circling and flowing nicely 😉

This story turned out to be an Urban Fantasy which is a very new genre for me, but I like the story a lot. For now, it’s just a freestyle writing and I like how the main character grows into such a wonderfully strong female character.

Reading… My reading has really went down in numbers, as I am currently reading 2 books from Heena’s list for reviews and if I will have enough energy and time I will read one of the books I have in my ‘currently reading’ list over at Goodreads, lol.

That is all for this (already long) post and I hope things will get into some sort of normality for us all, soon ♡

How was your week and weekend? I hope you all had a great Sunday
As always, thank you so much for reading ❤

Resolutions Update

I was looking at my New Year’s Resolutions and I wrote down a little note to myself of what I did so far and what needs more work. I thought why not share them with you and it will go nicely with my May Goals that I will post at start of the month 🙂

So let’s start…

Writing:

I am very close to finishing the first draft. Less than 9K words. In most days this is a very easy job to do, but this month something went a bit off with my writing so not much progress was made on April.

I did make a few changes here and there, changes that made more sense than before but other than that not much progress.

Research:

The research for my book is almost done, just need to add a few more little bits of information. I never had to do research, lol, so this was a nice learning experience.

Author’s Platform:

I am slowly trying to make this blog look cleaner and more professional looking but still not too rigid. I am trying to learn more and more about this business and what I still need to do, but I guess there are always more things to learn 😉

I hope you like the new look for this blog and the new header. I think it’s a keeper – well for now, lol. I like the clean look of it and I think I will stay with it. The header I might change but will see.

Reading:

On reading in general I am so happy that I am able to read more books, due to being part of The Reading Bud by Heena and receiving lots of books to review.

My reading goal for this year is minimum 30 new books and on Goodreads, I set a goal of 50 books. The way things are moving right now I am sure I will meet my goal of reading 30 new books this year (at least).

Health & Fitness:

Sadly in this department, I am not doing so well. All is pretty much the same and I have yet made any commitment to do something. I did, however, start just a few days to minimize my junk-food per day and I do try to drink more water, but I need to do a lot more… So wish me luck.

That is all for this short update 😉

Thank you so much for reading ❤

Mini Update

workplace-615375_1280

To all my readers hello, I am back 😉

I hope you had a great weekend, a wonderful Valentine and I hope you are all having an awesome Sunday ❤

How cute is that cup in the picture? I want one ❤

Sorry, I was away for most of the week, I just couldn’t really bring myself to write or post. Last week was full of challenges, to say the least. It started with a huge sandstorm that almost got me to the E.R and ended with a tree falling on our car from the storm.

So I thought after a week away I will do a mini update.

Our car

Our car will be fixed by the insurance company, although we do need to add more money for the fixing. It’s annoying, but at least we will have our car back. That makes me very happy… 🙂

Valentine’s Day

word-619064_1280

Well, I can tell you that we didn’t do anything on Valentine’s Day. We were both watching TV, playing Gw2 and eating tons of junk food 😀 But it was a good rest and we needed it.

Writing

I wrote only 2000-2500 words last week, so… nothing, lol.

Inspiration

I did get some scenes written that were inspired by the sandstorm and the tree falling on our car, lol, so I guess some good came out of these horrible events.

Reading

I finally bought some Kindle versions of the books I wanted to read.

The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner

Throne of Glass

7896527

Akarnae (The Medoran Chronicles 1) by the lovely Lynette Noni

I have also bought 2 books from Book Depository. Can’t wait for them to arrive 🙂

My Plan

Well, my plan for this week is to write as much as I can, read as much as I can and post again 🙂

I’ve missed you all so much and I want to thank you all for helping me and calming me down, you are all so wonderful and I can’t tell you just how much I appreciate your encouragements and love.

What are your plans for this week?

Thank you so much for reading ❤

January Update

Wow, January is almost over.

This month was so hectic with so many things happening. Sorry for me being MIA, things just got a bit too busy than I thought it would be. Planning to post more after the weekend ❤

New buy

I searched a lot for a new writing desk and finally, I found the perfect one, It’s all in boxes right now waiting to be built. I wanted my own space, a place that is not the living room or the kitchen, just my own writing place. It will be in my spare room where we have our closets and laundry, but there is enough space to fit a great writing desk.

Still looking for a good chair and I hope to buy one soon.

I also bought a cute little lamp as well, can’t wait to organize my desk ❤

I hope that hubby will build the table this weekend and I will post a few pictures on my Instagram and maybe even here.

Sugar-free January

My sugar-free month is going great, I didn’t have any sugar at all this month. I can’t say it was easy… It wasn’t! I will not do that in February, lol, but I will eat real food (no junk) even if it contains sugar in it. I will not eat sweets at all, but food like smoked salmon (I miss it, so much) I will eat even if it has sugar in it.

My only advice to anyone who thinks of trying to lower their sweet intake is to do it slowly and drink lots of water or green tea, it helps a lot.

Editing

I was planning to edit one of my books I have already finished writing The Adventures Of Biloby The Wizard

The editing is not going well, so far. I guess I can’t-do two things at the same time. I will try to set time at weekends for the editing, but I haven’t worked on a plan for that, yet.

My writing

My writing is going good, but not as good as I wanted it to be at this stage. I am planning to push harder (much harder) in February. My average was about 5K (5,000 words) a day at the beginning of the month, but as the month progressed, my average went downhill. Now I write about 3K a day.

My plan for February is to push as hard as I can. I know I can do better with my writing.

So far I write mostly in one sitting and sometimes maybe two for about 4-5 hours total. But now I plan to write in one sitting at least 5K for 4 hours, take a small break and sit for another 2 hours (at least). I am planning to be less in social media and will close my phone more (it helps a lot).

Will continue to update you all as I go on 🙂

Two most important things I’ve learned this month about my writing

  • My difficulty this month was time, I did learn how to put my time to better use and set a huge block of time for my writing. It still needs a bit of tweaking though, but that’s ok. I will learn how to balance home with writing, I just need a bit more practice 😀
  • I’ve learned to put my writing first. It’s a work in progress, but I am doing much better at taking time for myself.

That is all for now, a new Book Update will be on the weekend.

Have a great weekend full of relaxation and creativity ❤

Thank you so much for reading ❤
