Resolutions Update

I was looking at my New Year’s Resolutions and I wrote down a little note to myself of what I did so far and what needs more work. I thought why not share them with you and it will go nicely with my May Goals that I will post at start of the month 🙂

So let’s start…

Writing:

I am very close to finishing the first draft. Less than 9K words. In most days this is a very easy job to do, but this month something went a bit off with my writing so not much progress was made on April.

I did make a few changes here and there, changes that made more sense than before but other than that not much progress.

Research:

The research for my book is almost done, just need to add a few more little bits of information. I never had to do research, lol, so this was a nice learning experience.

Author’s Platform:

I am slowly trying to make this blog look cleaner and more professional looking but still not too rigid. I am trying to learn more and more about this business and what I still need to do, but I guess there are always more things to learn 😉

I hope you like the new look for this blog and the new header. I think it’s a keeper – well for now, lol. I like the clean look of it and I think I will stay with it. The header I might change but will see.

Reading:

On reading in general I am so happy that I am able to read more books, due to being part of The Reading Bud by Heena and receiving lots of books to review.

My reading goal for this year is minimum 30 new books and on Goodreads, I set a goal of 50 books. The way things are moving right now I am sure I will meet my goal of reading 30 new books this year (at least).

Health & Fitness:

Sadly in this department, I am not doing so well. All is pretty much the same and I have yet made any commitment to do something. I did, however, start just a few days to minimize my junk-food per day and I do try to drink more water, but I need to do a lot more… So wish me luck.

That is all for this short update 😉

Thank you so much for reading ❤

#TakeBackWhatsYours CAMPAIGN

20150119_183400

Hello to all my wonderful readers, I was invited by the lovely Katie from Plus+ Beauty to join this campaign and I can’t be any happier to do a tag as important as this.

The #TakeBackWhatsYours Campaign was originally started by Chloe from www.chloesconcept.blogspot.uk.com, as a way to use our position as bloggers to inspire other people to make a positive change for good! Below is an excerpt from Chloe’s blog, for more details or for anything else you want to know, click HERE for Chloe’s page.

“..Many make New Year resolutions, so why not influence people to make their resolution to take back what once belonged to them… maybe their confidence, maybe their control or even their happiness due to whatever situation has made them lack that ability.

This is a lifelong commitment, if you want to change the way you feel about yourself, or you want to act upon the message of this campaign and ‘Take Back What’s Yours‘, when better to do that than the start of a new year… This is not one of those “New Year, New Me” unrealistic resolutions. When I say “New Year, New You”, I genuinely mean it.”

If you would like to get involved, all you have to do is this:

  • Write a blog post talking about this campaign, the message it contains and why are you taking part.
  • What “Take Back What’s Yours” New Year’s Resolution you are going to set yourself.
  • Tag 10 bloggers to take part.
  • Let Chloe know if you’re taking part by using the hashtag on Twitter #TakeBackWhatsYours, Also tag either @ChloesConcept or @TBWYCampaign so she can retweet!!
  • If you can include a photo of yourself with a handmade poster (doesn’t have to be artistic!) with the words:

“TAKE BACK WHAT’S YOURS” –
MAKE YOUR NEW YEARS RESOLUTION TO TAKE BACK WHAT BELONGS TO YOU. #TakeBackWhatsYours
In 2015, I’m taking back: *i.e., “my confidence”

What I’m Taking Back

Many of you that follow me know that I have some health issues that I struggle with. At the age of 29 I was diagnosed with Primary Addison’s Disease and Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, which are both autoimmune diseases, and a few more problems all at the same year… The joy 😉

The one thing you may not know is that I have struggled (most of my life) with an Eating Disorder – Anorexia Nervosa. When I was 16 I lost 25 kilos (= 55lbs), in less then 2 months and I was 1.65m. I was 39kilos and then I went down to 35kilos. That’s when my parents started to help me. This is something that is very hard for me to share with the world but it’s such an important tag, so I thought… This is the time.

All my illnesses and my eating disorder made my life hell and I have to admit it was hard not to relapse. Now I am a bit overweight as my anxiety and stress went up to the roof this past year and half and I combined my eating with stress, which was a very bad idea 😀

Now I am slowly trying to take back my body and my self-acceptance and as I try to be more healthy and lose weight, I try extremely hard not to go to my “safe place” but to work hard on myself and be healthier physically and mentally.

Starting this blog has been one of the best things that has ever happened to me (besides my hubby of course). It made me open up more and see things more clearly. I have met many wonderful and beautiful people from different parts of the world and it showed me that this is the path for me. I love being able to share my passion with others more than I even thought before I started this blog and I love to connect with my readers so much.

I need to take back my body and self-acceptance.

I truly believe that if you love yourself with all your “faults” you can do so much more with your life. Nothing is impossible and that is what I am working on this year. Self-acceptance for me is not only physical (I accept myself as I look and feel), but also of who I am.

I am a writer. And I need to stop letting people take this away from me.

My Plans for 2015

2015b
some pictures were taken from good old google 🙂

I always loved making lists, setting goals and making plans, so my New Year’s resolution is no different. Over the years I learned to be better at keeping them, but I still need to learn a lot. This year I started my “resolutions” as a plan already categorized and even sub-categorized. What can I say I love it! Yes, I am a nerd… ❤

I will start with what is most important for me as a writer. This is by far the hardest resolution for me, as well as the most important.

Writing

Finish my first novel:

  1. Write every day (except on weekends). I plan on writing in the morning (10:30am) after hubby goes off to work and after my morning coffee 🙂
  2. Write 4 pages per day, at least. I don’t want to look at my achievements in word count as sometimes it can get discouraging for me and pages tend to fill up more quickly when I don’t think about my word count.
  3. Re-write older notes. I have a few paper notes that I need to type into the comment area of my document.
  4. Finish writing the book! This is by far the important one, lol, without it there is no publishing. My mom said that her wish for me is that I don’t be like her and finish what I’ve started ❤ so this is my most important goal to achieve this year.
  5. Edit the first draft.

Research:

  1. Research what I need for my book, type and scan all the notes into the computer for backup.
  2. Learn about the author business; traditional publishing, self-publishing and all that might be included in that.
  3. Build a better author platform online, which includes writing more blog posts per week, build my blog to be more professional but also keep the lightness in it and I also want to build my subscribers email list… After all, you are all so sweet and kind to me, I need to return the favor.
  4. Think of covers.
  5. Publish my first Novel. I wrote it here for 2015 as a motivational goal more than anything, but I do hope to step into the publishing world no longer than the mid of 2016.

Reading:

I want to read more books about this business after all knowledge is power right?

Health & Fitness

  1. Stay positive, think positive.
  2. Learn to relax more.
  3. Drink more water, at least 6 glasses a day. I just forget to drink water 😦
  4. Reduce junk food intake per day.
  5. Exercise for 15 minutes a day, at least 3 times per week.
  6. Find good food choices for my daily menu (gluten, soy, and dairy free).

Reading

My reading goal for this year is 30 new books, but because of our family budget, I might just re-read my books again and then my reading goal is 100 or so books (maybe a bit more). Books are my inspiration and I always read, so if I can’t buy new books and before you suggest, I hate taking out books from libraries (“OCD” issues) I will read the books I have again. I always seem to find some new bit of inspiration in the pages, things I haven’t noticed before.

Wow, that’s it! I know that some of these goals will be harder than others. However, I have never been more Determined to achieve my goals and I know that the people, who truly love me and want this for me (you guys as well), will find a way to help me keep being focused on my writing and keep me accountable for the goals I’ve set.

So feel free to ask me on my goals and my writing at any time.

Ok!

That is truly the end of this post, lol, sorry for the long post. Don’t forget to share your thoughts, they are important to me.

Thank you so much for reading ❤
