Writer’s Log: Failing But Keep Trying

Hello everyone, happy Wednesday to you all ❤

Hope your day is going well, and if not… It’s almost tomorrow 😉 A new day.

Recently I’ve been trying to wake up at 4 am and absolutely failing at it, lol. No matter what I do, I just get more frustrated with my bedtime routine and not getting up at 4 am at all. However, I did learn that most of my problem beyond stress is that my nighttime routine is a real shit (sorry of the language). I watch TV or youtube until 1 am at best and I barely have any relax time away from a screen.

Even though I consider this challenge a failure, I still think I would love to wake up a bit earlier than normal which is 6 am in most days. I would love to wake up at about 5:30 am and see if this way I will have a bit of time to eat something light and get ready slower without the stress of getting ready in the morning.

I do believe in a good night routine and I think that I need to work harder on creating a routine that will work… And this is what I came up so far:

  1. Clean and organize for 15 the living room and kitchen.
  2. Drink a glass of water.
  3. Decide the clothes you want to wear the next day.
  4. Make a chia pudding for breakfast (we love this).
  5. Take a shower (don’t own a bath).
  6. Creative time 10 minutes: Read/Journal
  7. Set alarm to 5:30 am
  8. Go to bed no longer than 23:00 without phone/TV/tablet.
  9. Go to bed at the same hour, every day.

So this is my new and improved bedtime/winddown routine, what do you think? any suggestions?

I would love to read some of your tips for waking up early or good night sleep.

As always, thank you so much for reading ❤

Quarterly Goals Recap

Hello everyone, and Happy Monday to you all 🙂

The time has come! Time to review my quarterly goals and find out if I was a huge success or a big F (for failure).

If you are not familiar with these Quarterly goals, I’ll give you a little background. I found the idea over at a You-tuber, and a wonderful Author, by the name of Jenna Moreci 🙂

The idea is to list 10-20 goals for the next three months. This way you will be more focused on your goals and not watch TV or in my case, I won’t be gaming as much as I want

If I accomplish my goals then I am amazing and I can say with a clear mind that I am the queen of the world, lol (or maybe not), but if I fail then I get to publicly say that I have failed, yay me. Sounds fun, right?

If you wanna see the original post of my Quarterly Goals and How I have done throughout these three months in more detail, I will link them here:

Quarterly Goals

January Update

February Update

March Update (Kinda)

So, let’s start to look at my goals and see if I did well or not:

  1. Buy new boxes.
  2. Organize things in the boxes.
  3. Finish with the revising.  (Happy Dance)
  4. Have a date night with hubby once a week (already doing this <3). Half/Half Well for two months it went amazing, but then March came and everything stopped.
  5. Organize my Mom’s things.
  6. Organize writing room.
  7. Outline the new project.
  8. Write 150 pages. No! I am at page 138.
  9. Find my F* lost book. Finally found the notes and already organized them into binders.
  10. Write at least 8 blog posts a month. Half/Half Well I was great for the first two months, but March had different plans for me, lol 😀
  11. Post more on my social media. No!
  12. Clean up my Twitter. It looks better, but I still have tons of work.
  13. Change Covers/Banners/Themes (for social media & blog). It looks so pretty and I love it 😀 Go see if you haven’t yet 🙂
  14. Clean & organize my blog. No! Done a few (little) changes and cleaned things up, but on March I have done nothing.
  15. Eat healthier (2-3 veggies/fruits a day). LOL, No! With all the stress, I ate mostly junk food 😦
  16. Drink more water (1.5-3 liters a day). No! Drank mostly diet coke (I know…) 😦
  17. Walk more. LOL, NO! Omg. This one is a huge fat NO! With everything that was going on, I didn’t even try. I was mostly too exhausted physically and mentally to start any workout.
  18. Cook at least 3 healthy meals a week. Half/Half For the first two months, I was relatively okay, but on March a huge NO!
  19. Reconnect with friends IRL (so hard for me). Sadly No!
  20. Take some pictures of hubby and me and print them out. Nope!
  21. Buy new simple frames and put those picture in them. No! Forgot all about this one, lol.
  22. Follow blog/social media stats.
  23. Reach 700 followers on Twitter (would love some help in this) Thank you so much to you all 😀 I have reached my goal and now I’m at 717 (yay).
  24. Research some things for an awesome giveaway (started). Done and done. now all I need are a few little things and I hope to hold this Giveaway on June

So, let’s see how I did

If I am not mistaken I managed to accomplish a bit over half of my goals (13.5). So it’s still a huge fat failure for me! However, I am happy of a few of the things I was able to accomplish in my writing ❤

So I am not totally ashamed of my failure, lol, but I hope to do much better in my next Quarterly goals 😀

As always, thank you so much for reading ❤

Monthly Goals

It’s time for… New month, new goals 🙂

February was not a good month for us and I am happy it’s over. I didn’t do a monthly update for February because there was nothing much to update you guys on.

March feels much better though and I hope it will be better. I wrote some goals to keep me on the right track and I thought it will be nice to share them with you.

My goals are not just about my writing but on other things, I really want and need to accomplish this month.

So let’s start…

My writing

In order to still finish my book on the deadline I’ve set at the beginning of the year, I need to write a lot and faster. Because February was such a horrible month in writing as well (almost didn’t write at all) I really need to speed things up and write each day (well, Fri+Sat are not included) about 3K-5K a day minimum.

I know it’s a lot and in some days I can write a lot more than that, but in order for me to finish my first draft by the end of this month, I need to stay away from all distractions like the social media, phone calls, and gaming.

I have some great ideas on how to end my story, better than before so I hope that the writing will come smoothly so I can push every day and end the book.

My goal for wanting to read more books sure picked up this past month. I started by reading one book and ended up reading about four books last month.

I am book reviewing for the lovely Heena from TRB blog and a few books of my own, my reading jump-started by a lot, lol.  No complaints of course, who wouldn’t mind reading books for free and my TBR (To Be Read) list is growing and growing, lol.

For this month I have two books to read and I guess Heena will send me a few as well, so I don’t know yet what the number of books I will read in total, but I hope I can keep up with all the other things I want and need to be doing this month 😉

Soon I will have my kindle with me so I can read faster and it will not hurt my eyes like it does now ❤

Wow, this is a loaded subject for me. Not only have I neglected my health, I have stopped all together going my doctors and for most of February, I have been eating junk food.

But I really want to change this, not just on the level of eating healthy, but I want to really try pushing both of us (hubby and I) in the right direction. After all, we are not getting any younger and I do not want the health problem that most of my family has, just because I was too lazy to do something about it.

I want us to go for a general checkup at our doctors so we will have a better view of what is going on in our body.

Of course, I want to lose some weight as well, but not just by cutting on the junk food but also do some walks, get back to yoga and be more active.

Lastly, I really want to be able to feel better and stronger again, as I used to feel. Especially now that summer will soon get here and summers are extremely difficult here (for me) and I have much more anxieties when summer is here and the heat is just unbearable.

Btw, this gif reminds me that I need good walking shoes 😀

I am planning a major spring cleaning around the entire house.

I know this will be exhausting and it will be a huge amount of work, but I feel as if I really need this.

I need to clear out all the clutter and make the house feel free.

I don’t know how to explain this, It’s just a strong feeling that this is something I must do.

Be more social

I stepped aside this past month, socially speaking cocooned myself from the outer world.

It was just a horrible month for me and I felt the need to be by myself and I really wasn’t able to talk much to people besides hubby 🙂

After the new month has started and I feel much better, I want to reach out to more people in my life (real life and online friends).

I am not a very social person, to say the least, lol.

I want to try and connect better with the ones that didn’t flee already and stayed by my side the whole time.

* * *

Wow, sorry if this post was too long, I guess I had too much fun sharing this with you all.

Tomorrow I will post another wonderful award I have received, just a hint to let you guess 😀

I hope you are all having a good week and even better day 🙂

Btw, a few people asked me where I take my pics and gifs from, so I listed them here 😀

* All gifs are taken from here

* Most of the pictures are taken from here

* Most of my edits are done here

Have fun ❤

Thank you so much for reading ❤

Sugar Free January

So I talked with my friend who suffers from the same illness as I do and has the same issues dealing with low energy and stress. You see, when I’m too stressed or even just low on energy I grab sugary and salty foods which are bad for so many reasons that I will not list here.

So after we talked a lot about what can we do, we said we will try a no sugar diet for a month. Now I am not talking about the natural sugar in fruits or veggies, I am talking about the processed sugary and salty foods. I will still eat salt, only because I have to with my illness, but I will not make it as an excuse to eat salty junk food.

Because we are already 1 week into January, we are left with 3 weeks.

Wish me luck and I will let you know how it goes along the way.

Thank you so much for reading ❤
