December Goals

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a good weekend ❤

This month is an extremely busy and stressful month. My mom is not feeling that good and she has water in her lungs so on Monday she will undergo a small procedure to drain the water and see what the water is made of (infection, cancer, and other health issues). On Sunday we have to go to her heart doctor and do CT as preparations, but this entire month is full of doctors and checkups.

I can’t believe how fast December has arrived and it’s already the end of the year… Wow. But there are still 4 weeks to go so lots to do and goals to accomplish. From January I will start posting mostly once a week due to a tight schedule of editing, but I will try to post more 🙂

Anyways, before we go into my December Goals, let’s see how I did in November.

How I did with my November goals?

  1. Win Nanowrimo (write 50K). ❌ (Nope, didn’t win but I wrote 34K so that’s great).
  2. Paint behind the stove. ✔
  3. Blog 2-3 times a week. ✔
  4. Duolingo daily. ❌ Didn’t do it even once in November, lol.
  5. Yoga 3 times a week. ❌ I did do Yoga but I think I ended up doing only once a week.
  6. Declutter the closet room. ✔ Not finished but I did a lot and I ended up decluttering about 490 Items (yay me).
  7. Read 2 books. ✔ I’ve Read 5 books ❤

My December Goals

  1. Blog 2 times a week.
  2. Continue writing (my goal is to write 15K).
  3. Continue decluttering (declutter the other closet and bookshelves).
  4. Put up the Christmas tree 🎄 Still didn’t do this 😦
  5. Drink 1.5L of water daily.
  6. Make Jan 2019 bullet journal.
  7. Plan posts for Dec and Jan. ✔
  8. Journal daily.
  9. Yoga twice a week.
  10. Read 6 books.

My Instagram followers chose my TBR for this month from my Goodreads TBR pile

Ig Dec TBR, Coffee n' Notes

So here’s what they have chosen for me:

December TBR, Coffee n' Notes

December TBR, Coffee n' Notes

December TBR, Coffee n' Notes

That is all for my ambitious goals, but I want to push myself harder so I can accomplish more even when life is hectic.

What is your main goal for this month?

As always, thank you so much for reading ❤

I usually don’t read self-help books, but I do try to read things outside my comfort zone and because we are getting closer to 2019, I needed every help I can get so after I heard so many good things about this book, I decided to buy it… And I am so happy I did.

This book didn’t have many original ideas, and the author told me things I probably already knew… However, it was still a nice reminder of what I need to do and sometimes it is nice to have a good reminder a push even if it comes out from a book.

As I try to surround myself with things that will be a constant reminder of what I want and how I want to achieve it, I loved reading this book because of that… A great reminder and sometimes if we know something we really don’t get it, lol. Some things just clicked really good in this book and I plan to read this book again in 2019 with fresh new eyes 😉

I mostly felt with all the things I highlighted that it was like a reminder post-it note or a smart cheat sheet for you to always pick into and plan your goals smarter and achieve them faster.

I got this book in an ebook and so I highlighted a few lines and paragraphs that I knew will stick with me for a while…

“If you’re serious about changing your life, you’ll find a way. If you’re not, you’ll find an excuse”.

“If you want to live a life you’ve never lived, you have to do things you’ve never done”.

This is beyond true and correct for me, and I just realized that while reading this book and since then… So much have changed and still is changing ❤
For me, this book was more like a push in the right direction, I needed it a lot 😀

You can find the book over at:

6 Habits to create Before 2019

Hey everyone, I hope you’re doing well this week ❤

Sorry, I didn’t put any posts this week, but I’m back 😀 Before we enter 2019 (and I can’t believe 2018 is almost over) I want to change a few things even earlier and try to build some good habits that will continue on to the new year. So, after lots of thought and tons of planning here are the 6 habits I want to build for 2019 and for life.

I  hope you’ll get inspired and try to build a new habit for yourself that will help you with your goals and to achieve your dreams 😀

Declutter

Remove those items that in the end only help you stay where you are right now and not where you could be. Declutter your things in your home, your office and even your car in a way to you will keep only the items that bring you joy, that will help you grow and be where you want to be. Remove the wrong people that are still in your life. Sometimes the people around us are not the right people that we should have.

Start now

Implement small steps, small action towards your end game goals. Plant those amazing seeds that will soon grow into greater value. Start that project you always wanted, read that book you wished you’ve read or learn a language you always dreamt of knowing. They say that even by starting, showing up for that goal every day will bring you to your end game soon enough. You want to learn a language? Open that app every day – even if there will be times that you will just close the app immediately but there will be more times that you will learn for 5 minutes, 10 minutes and do more towards your dream goal.

Reflect

This is a new habit I’ve started these past few months and it’s amazing, it changed a lot of how I look at things. I try to journal a lot (weekly) and reflect on my days and my week to see how I feel and what I did and most importantly, how I acted.

Space

Create the space that will help you create, hehe. Make a space that you’ll actually be excited to be in and start your dream project. Clean, organize and decorate this space in a way that will inspire you daily and each day when you wake up you can’t wait just to be in that space you’ve created and work on your goals.

Be active

It’s good to be healthy and do our daily workout like going for a walk or a run, biking, yoga or going to the gym… These are all great example of living with a healthy mindset, but when I say being more active it’s not just about our body, but also being active with our mind. Stop blaming people and events in your life, and start finding solutions.

(I’ve been reacting to life for far too long and as I planed my 6 months, I noticed that even while I plan I still plan as if I am reacting to the things that might happen and not truly acting on the things I want. So I started changing this mindset as I plan my days and find a solution to a problem that might come up and find the ways I can work around an event and still work towards my goals).

Learn

Learn the skill you know you’ll need in order to achieve your end goal. For example, if you want to publish a book, take 20 minutes and learn about the business of being a published author and about the art of writing that book. You can learn any skill as long as you show up and do the work.

Plan your end game – Take a moment to think, If you were at your best every day and every month where are you after 6 months with your goals and your dreams? Truly think of this as you plan your month and even your day.

As always, thank you so much for reading ❤

E.E. Rawls Writes

And yes, this includes WordPress.com users! In fact, the whole point is that they can be used on WordPress.comsites (like mine) and look unique, instead of the plain ones you find out there now. But first, here’s the story of how they came about:

pink rose, progress bars, for writers, wordpress.com widgets, progress widget, website tool, book tools, writer tools, writer help, blog tool, for bloggers, for writers,

When I started revising the draft of my novel Strayborn, I wanted a cool widget that would show on the sidebar of my website my writing progress. I looked/googled around, but everything that was pretty, cool, and had special features used Javascript or some other thing that WordPress.com doesn’t allow. In the end, what I did find was a simple one color bar that showed percentages, so I used that. But after a while, it stopped working. I don’t know what the reason was, but it would no longer work on any of my sites. My frustration flared up.

I got to thinking how I…

Quarterly Goals

I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday 🙂

If you want to know what Quarterly Goals are and see how I did in my April-June Quarterly Goals Recap. The only reason I dropped June from the past goals because I talked with a few friends and we set up a new plan for June 😉

I and a few other girls are doing “Nano style” in July and August, so at June, we plan. I’m planning to “Nano Edit” on July and August while the others are doing the writing. I’ve talked with my mom and hubby about this and I am so happy that they are being so supportive of the idea, even if it means that I won’t be with them as much as usual 😉 Thank you so much for this… It means the world for me ❤

So here are my new goals for June – August 😉

  1. Organize the house and De-clutter.
  2. Retype notes, final outline and organize them.
  3. Finish all book reviews I need to do.
  4. Print the final outline and the entire book.
  5. Start “Nano Edit” in July.
  6. Blog when I can (but at least once a week) 😉
  7. Finish July’s “Nano Edit” with half the book edited.
  8. Don’t let others take my time (less of a goal and more of a reminder).
  9. Start “Nano Edit” in August.
  10. Finish August’s “Nano Edit”.
  11. Finish editing the entire book 😀
  12. In these 2.5 months Find an editor!!! (I always say I will find one, lol, but I let time pass me by).
  13. Keep Journaling, even on those stressful days 😉
  14. Reach 850 followers on twitter 😉
  15. Buy new frames.
  16. Re-organize our bookshelves (they are in a huge mess right now).

Well, these are my new goals. As you see, I have fewer goals this time and they are much more specific 😀 With a bit of luck I will be able to accomplish most of them. I am very excited about these goals and that I have the power to claim this time just for my writing ❤ I can’t wait to start.

I hope you are all doing great with your goals and with what you wish to accomplish. Remember! As long as you try, you are already far ahead in your path. I am so proud of you

Weekly Round Up

coffeennotesweekly

Hey everyone (it’s a very late Sunday here)  😉 I hope you are all having a nice weekend ❤

I spent my Friday in the hospital with my mom, due to a huge allergy reaction she had and I only got home at 2am. I slept all through Saturday and through most of Sunday, lol.

I felt too exhausted, to do anything (I hate hospitals). Today I made some arrangements as my mom and I are going back to the hospital to do a biopsy and see why my mom’s legs are so puffy and red. Tomorrow it’s going to be a busy day as well… Yay 😉

This weekly round-up will be short, so let’s jump right into it 😀

Quarterly Goals Recap

Quarterly Goals Recap

Here, you can see how I did in my last quarter of Jan-Mar. I had over 20 goals and the goal was to achieve at least half of them. These were really busy, three months.

Quarterly Goals

Goals

See what goals I’ve set up for myself for the next quarter of Apr-Jun. This is the second time I am doing Quarterly Goals and so far I really love it. It’s really hard and overwhelming to look at all the goals and try to finish them all in one month. This way I try to stay accountable and it makes me feel less overwhelmed (win-win) 🙂

That is all for this weekly round-up, I hope it will inspire you to go and set up some goals for your projects and for the things you want to achieve.

Take it easy tomorrow (after all, it’s Monday, lol and if you are like me… I see lots of coffee in your future 😉

Quarterly Goals

Hello everyone, it’s Thursday. Can you smell the weekend? I can’t wait for the weekend to start.

Today it is time to set new Quarterly Goals for April-Jun, I hope this time I will do better (much better). If you want to see how I did on my last Quarterly Goals, check it out here 🙂

For this quarter I also have a lot of goals that I want to accomplish, a few more important than others, but nevertheless goals that I want to reach.

So, let’s start

  1. Write 250 pages (Come on Galit, I need to sit on my ass and write more. I can do this!).
  2. Edit on weekends.
  3. Write at least 8 blog posts a month.
  4. Change my blog theme and sidebar to what I’m working on now.
  5. Hold a giveaway (as I said in my last newsletter, it will be in June).
  6. Organize my blog.
  7. Clean up my twitter (again).
  8. Reach 750 followers on twitter 😉
  9. Finish book reviews on time!
  10. Organize files on my computer and hard drive (there are in a huge mess, lol).
  11. Buy a cover package.
  12. Hire an editor.
  13. Send out queries for T.E.L (already sent out 1).
  14. Read 3 to 4 books (not for reviews).
  15. Eat less junk food (must try at least, lol) 😉
  16. Journal more often.
  17. Try to keep the house more suitable for humans (even in those stressful days, lol).
  18. Buy a new mattress (omg, I have to do this).
  19. Buy new frames (haven’t done this yet, lol).
  20. Date night with hubby (maybe even a game night) once a week ❤
  21. Follow blogs and social media stats.
  22. Drink more water!
  23. Post more on social media (writing and book-related pics).
  24. Make some changes to the newsletter (already started working on that).

Writing

So, these are my new Quarterly Goals, 24 goals for 3 months. Wow, I’m starting to have a panic attack here, but I can do this (right?).

I hope to accomplish at least half of them, if not more. I also hope to finish all my ‘Writer’s Goals’ by the end of June.

Goals

What are your goals for the new month/s? Don’t forget to set some goals for your project and keep them close to you, mine are on my phone on a widget (trust me, it helps).

Weekly Round Up

Hey everyone, happy and safe Sunday to you all ❤

So much happened this week, lol. My mom moved to a new place, and we had so much to do with organizing things and get the papers organized for all the doctors’ appointments we have this week 😀

I was able to do a few of the things that were more urgent to me (been very productive, lol) but I’m still so behind on my blog posts reading – sorry about that. I think after this week I will take a long nap (for a few days) 😀

Quarterly Goals

Risking public humiliation 😉 I posted my goals for these upcoming three months of Jan-Mar (wish me luck) 😀

Quarterly Goals

Goals

Hello my to all my wonderful readers, I hope you are all having a great Saturday ❤

Quarterly Goals, is a new feature that I will be posting once in every three months. I saw this feature at a YouTuber Author, Jenna Moreci. I loved it so much, so I thought it would be a great idea to try it out.

So far, it’s amazing.

I’ve already accomplished a few of my goals and I just started writing these goals. Usually, I write my monthly goals and even weekly/daily goals and with all that is going on in my life right now, I always feel overwhelmed and stressed.

Making these goals makes me feel that I have more control of the chaos around me and be able to do the things I want without being too stressed out or guilt. I still use daily/weekly goals but as a broken down of these goals I have below 🙂

So, this is how it works (as she said in her Vlog)… You need to write 10 to 20 goals and you need to accomplish at least half of those goals by the end of the quarter.

If I accomplish half or more, than it is “well done” for me 😀

If I fail, then it is “public failure” for me (Yay) 😦

Here are my Quarterly goals (Jan-Mar)

  1. Buy new boxes.
  2. Organize things in the boxes.
  3. Finish with the revising.
  4. Have a date night with hubby once a week (already doing this <3).
  5. Organize my Mom’s things.
  6. Organize writing room.
  7. Outline the new project.
  8. Write 150 pages.
  9. Find my F* lost book.
  10. Write at least 8 blog posts a month.
  11. Post more on my social media.
  12. Clean up my Twitter.
  13. Change Covers/Banners/Themes (for social media & blog).
  14. Clean & organize my blog.
  15. Eat healthier (2-3 veggies/fruits a day).
  16. Drink more water (1.5-3 liters a day).
  17. Walk more.
  18. Cook at least 3 healthy meals a week.
  19. Reconnect with friends IRL (so hard for me).
  20. Take some pictures of hubby and me and print them out.
  21. Buy new simple frames and put those picture in them.
  22. Follow blog/social media stats.
  23. Reach 700 followers on Twitter (would love some help in this) 😀
  24. Research some things for an awesome giveaway (started).

Okay, so I have a bit more than 20 goals, lol but some are smaller than others (so that’s okay). Wish me luck with all these goals and I do hope I will be able to accomplish at least half and not fail here in front of all you, lol.

I do like that in this goal setting approach, I still hold myself accountable but not without the massive stress I usually feel 😀

Are you a goal-setting kind of a person? If you are, how do you go about that?

As always, thank you so much for reading ❤

New month… New Goals

Officejpg

Before I will start with my February Goals, I wanted to know if you saw my new blog header and the new tagline I wrote underneath the blog title. It is very similar to the one I had before, but a bit cleaner. If you cannot remember the one I had before, I am linking it here and I would love to know your thoughts about the new header vs. the old. Thank you ❤

I have a few goals for this short (too short) month

Home

I get too distracted and I end up not doing what I want (or what is needed). My goal for this month is that after my writing session and after I eat something yummy for lunch, I will start with cleaning the house and starting making dinner for at least 1 hour. This way I will still do something, but not a lot.

Reading

I want to read at least 1 book this month. I don’t know if I will be able to buy a new book, but I will continue with Terry Pratchett’s books, I have a lot I haven’t read yet, and find a few on sale or free books I can read.

Coffee n’ Notes

I really want to push myself a bit harder here as well and try to post a bit more.

I thought of doing a Friday Musing (I will post something that really inspired me that week or that day) and try to post a bit more throughout the week 😉

I want to organize my blog a bit better. I don’t think I will change my theme, yet. I love it too much to change it, but I do want to reorganize it so it will look better.

Time

As always, time is a bit slippery for me, lol, so I want to “grab time by the horns” and manage my time better.

I have a huge block of time for writing which is about 4-5 hours. The rest of the time isn’t set properly, so I get distracted when people want my attention and before I know it hubby is home and I no longer have the energy to do things around the house, as all I want is to chill out and relax or play GW2 or just watch T.V.

Writing

After I wrote and deleted tons of words (did it twice, lol) I am a bit behind on my word count for this month, but not by a lot. I missed a few writing days (weekend and migraines) so I pushed myself harder these last few days.

By the end of January I did try to be a bit more organized with my writing and so I have downloaded the free trial of Scrivener, just so I can learn how to use it and see if I can use it daily. With Scrivener, I already see more improvement in my beats organization, which is a great start for loving this software.

If you don’t know what are beats, beats are from saving the cat by Black Snyder. I use beats a lot in my outlining and writing, as with it I see my whole plot better and I don’t get stuck.

  • A side story… Yesterday was a slow writing day. I needed to write a scene with that basic fear in it. Now I have been in situations where I felt fear, But it was different. Anyway, I couldn’t write it as well as I wanted. My friend always says to Summon what you want and it will come. At that moment when I thought of what she said a huge black fly entered the room and circled around me. I hate bugs (a lot!) and it was one of those flies that can bite or sting you, so I was really scared. I know it sounds silly to most people, but hey, it worked, lol. I ran out of the room, grabbed my bug-spray and I sprayed him, which made my entire room smell. I opened the window and he vanished. I think I was high on adrenaline (which is impossible with my illness, lol) 😀 but it worked. When I returned to my new desk, I wrote about 2K words in 40 minutes (for me it’s very fast).

I want to push a bit harder and write 5-7K each day and I will not be editing the other book alongside my writing. I learned that it is just too hard for me and my writing suffers because of it. So no editing!

March is getting close and I am not near to the end as I wished to be, so I must push harder and not get distracted.

That is all for now, sorry for the long post. I hope It wasn’t too much.

Thank you so much for reading ❤
