Writer’s Log: How To Show Up For Yourself (+Happy Birthday To Me)

Hello everyone, and happy Saturday to you all ❤

I can’t believe we are at the end of this Writer’s Log series, wow… This was such a fun series to do (I hope you enjoyed it too) and this last post falls right on my birthday week 😉 is an amazing way of finishing the Writer’s Log ❤

My birthday was on Thursday 6.6 and it was a very normal day at home, we didn’t do anything special as I mostly like being at home, hehe. But turning this much was a huge change that started to ripple its effect on me. overall it was a good birthday, I’ve received a lot of birthday wishes that made me very happy and I got to rest a lot – which made this birthday just perfect, hehe 😀

Happy Birthday, Coffee n' Notes, Galit Balli, The Minions

For the last (almost) 5 years of blogging I’ve learned so much on how to be more consistent with what I choose to do and just by showing up to do it. But I’ve learned so much while doing this series of the writer’s Log (almost 2 months), more than all the 5 years of blogging, lol, wow.

I’ve made this series to build up my passion for blogging again while I’m in constant chaos around me and I am so happy I was able to bring that spark of joy and passion to this little corner of ours. But even more than that, I was able to bring back the conversation again, something that I’ve missed more than I thought I did. You showed me just how much I do miss writing, blogging and sharing my boring life with you all, hehe 😀

But you showed me that the conversations that made their way in the comments were something I truly missed here and I am looking forward to our conversations 😉

Now, let’s get back to our post…

Here my 3 tips on how to show up for yourself and do what you truly want to do:

Know what you want (your goal) and do it for a short time

This helped me a lot, to just have a true idea of how I see this happen. Saying that I wanted to try this but only for a small period of time. (It was 14.4-6.6, so 54 days) So I set my goal to try to blog mostly every day for 54 days. Now I was sure I won’t be able to blog every single day due to all the other things I need to do in my life, but I did try my hardest 😀 and this brings me to the other tip…

Set a realistic goal

As I said in my previous tip, set a realistic goal for yourself and a very realistic timeline. Just by knowing what you think you are capable you automatically can predict if the goal you set for yourself will really work. I knew that I wouldn’t be able to post every single day but in my head, I was aiming for about 3-4 times a week to meet my goal.

There were weeks that I was able to meet this goal but there were weeks that I couldn’t and this happens but I wasn’t bitting myself up for it because I knew that life could do that but I still tried every day. This leads to my final and most important tip which is…

Show up for yourself and for your work

Showing up for yourself, which means if you chose to blog every day, sit down next to your computer and write some posts, or going through your pics… every day. Even if you don’t post every day, you are still showing up for your passion/work and you are doing what you need and want to do. If it’s research, writing, editing. You are there, trying to make it and trying to work on that blog posts. Just by showing up you are already ahead of the game.

This is something very new that I’ve learned by actually doing. I always knew this rule but I let life push me where it went so in most cases I never did what I wanted to do. Now this series changed my pov (point of view) on the fact of just showing up

Saying goodbye to this series feels weird but I enjoyed doing this and I’ve learned so much. I can’t wait for the next one 😉

*** Btw, before I go… I am starting a new series over on my patreon so if you go and be part and click on your choice 😉

Writer’s Log: May’s TBR

Hello everyone, happy weekend to you all ❤

My weekend was fine with some family time, and house chores but overall it was a good weekend. This week will be a busy one with lots of doctor appointments, holiday (Our Independence Day) and some friends visiting… As I said a busy week.

In today’s Writer’s Log, I want to share my TBR (My To BE Read) for this month. I only have 3 books I want to read/finish. I don’t know if I will review them all, but will see how it goes 😀

Red Sister (Book of the Ancestor #1) by Mark Lawrence

Blurb: I was born for killing – the gods made me to ruin.
At the Convent of Sweet Mercy young girls are raised to be killers. In a few the old bloods show, gifting talents rarely seen since the tribes beached their ships on Abeth. Sweet Mercy hones its novices’ skills to deadly effect: it takes ten years to educate a Red Sister in the ways of blade and fist.
But even the mistresses of sword and shadow don’t truly understand what they have purchased when Nona Grey is brought to their halls as a bloodstained child of eight, falsely accused of murder: guilty of worse.
Stolen from the shadow of the noose, Nona is sought by powerful enemies, and for good reason. Despite the security and isolation of the convent her secret and violent past will find her out. Beneath a dying sun that shines upon a crumbling empire, Nona Grey must come to terms with her demons and learn to become a deadly assassin if she is to survive…

Evalene’s Number: The Number Series by Bethany Atazadeh

Blurb: Everyone in Eden is assigned a Number, tattooed on their neck, which determines their value and place in the world.
On her Numbering Day, Evalene Vandereth anticipates joining the élite. Born in an upper-class family, she knows exactly who she is and what she is worth. Even as the needle breaks her skin, she is blissfully happy. She never considers another outcome, until it’s too late.
Now 18-year-old Evalene lives in fear, struggling with her new identity, stripped of her freedom and basic human rights. Can she escape her Number? Is anyone else asking the same question?
Fans of The Hunger Games and Divergent will love Evalene’s Number and its incredible dystopian tale.

You Do You: How to Be Who You Are and Use What You’ve Got to Get What You Want by Sarah Knight

Blurb: Being yourself should be easy, yet too many of us struggle to live on other people’s terms instead of our own. Rather than feeling large and in charge, we feel little and belittled.
Sound familiar? Bestselling “anti-guru” Sarah Knight has three simple words for you:
YOU DO YOU.
It’s time to start putting your happiness first–and stop letting other people tell you what to do, how to do it, or why it can’t be done. And don’t panic! You can do it without losing friends and alienating people.

December Goals

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a good weekend ❤

This month is an extremely busy and stressful month. My mom is not feeling that good and she has water in her lungs so on Monday she will undergo a small procedure to drain the water and see what the water is made of (infection, cancer, and other health issues). On Sunday we have to go to her heart doctor and do CT as preparations, but this entire month is full of doctors and checkups.

I can’t believe how fast December has arrived and it’s already the end of the year… Wow. But there are still 4 weeks to go so lots to do and goals to accomplish. From January I will start posting mostly once a week due to a tight schedule of editing, but I will try to post more 🙂

Anyways, before we go into my December Goals, let’s see how I did in November.

How I did with my November goals?

  1. Win Nanowrimo (write 50K). ❌ (Nope, didn’t win but I wrote 34K so that’s great).
  2. Paint behind the stove. ✔
  3. Blog 2-3 times a week. ✔
  4. Duolingo daily. ❌ Didn’t do it even once in November, lol.
  5. Yoga 3 times a week. ❌ I did do Yoga but I think I ended up doing only once a week.
  6. Declutter the closet room. ✔ Not finished but I did a lot and I ended up decluttering about 490 Items (yay me).
  7. Read 2 books. ✔ I’ve Read 5 books ❤

My December Goals

  1. Blog 2 times a week.
  2. Continue writing (my goal is to write 15K).
  3. Continue decluttering (declutter the other closet and bookshelves).
  4. Put up the Christmas tree 🎄 Still didn’t do this 😦
  5. Drink 1.5L of water daily.
  6. Make Jan 2019 bullet journal.
  7. Plan posts for Dec and Jan. ✔
  8. Journal daily.
  9. Yoga twice a week.
  10. Read 6 books.

My Instagram followers chose my TBR for this month from my Goodreads TBR pile

Ig Dec TBR, Coffee n' Notes

So here’s what they have chosen for me:

December TBR, Coffee n' Notes

December TBR, Coffee n' Notes

December TBR, Coffee n' Notes

That is all for my ambitious goals, but I want to push myself harder so I can accomplish more even when life is hectic.

What is your main goal for this month?

November MoodBoard

Hey all, I saw the November Moodboard over at Aloma Writes, and I knew I just had to do this ❤ I asked her if I could do this post and she kindly said yes (yay me ).

If you don’t know who is Ashleigh or her gorgeous blog, go check it out and don’t forget to say hello:D She is such a kind and sweet person and her blog is so pretty and fun, I know you’ll love her posts.

November Mood

November reminds me of rain, a good book and yummy hot drinks (mostly coffee and spiced teas, hehe). My favorite colors in autumn are brown and pastel colors ❤ And I will hang twinkly lights everywhere (already started on that) 😀

My mood has changed completely, lol. My goal is to be more relaxed and not feel so overstressed as I do on most days. I’m drawn to tarot cards such as the Medicine animal and the Animal spirits, even my mood in music changed and I am more into chill music and rain sounds 😉 ❤

As always, thank you so much for reading ❤

Top 6 TV shows I Watched & Loved This Year

Happy Tuesday everyone ❤

Today is a very cloudy day but is also a hot day (weird) and all I want to do is curled up with a good TV show or a book and not do any of the tasks on my overflowing to-do list, but the work needs to be done 😀 I thought it would be fun if I’ll share with you my top 6 favorite shows I saw this year. Now there’re a lot more shows I watched and loved (like Glow, Supernatural, The Big Bang, Young Sheldon, and many more) but these are my top 6 TV shows.

The Good Place

The Good Place, Coffee n' Notes

This show is funny and weird (in a good way) and it is taking the whole human behaviors, heaven and hell into a higher level, I love it. If you don’t know anything about this show, I highly recommend this one 😀

The Handmaid’s Tale

The Handmaid's Tale, Coffee n' Notes

I think everyone heard of this tv show, it already impacted tons of people all around the globe. This show hits you hard and fast, that sometimes I think this could actually be a reality someday. This show makes you feel everything, and it makes you think a lot of our own little world and how things can change.

Westworld

Westworld, Coffee n' Notes

I loved… LOVED the first season but the second season was good as well, just not as great as the first season for me at least, but I still want to see how things will develop.

Doctor Who

Doctor Who, Coffee n' Notes

I am a huge doctor who fan – HUGE. And I love the new doctor as well, she may not be David Tennant, lol, but she is corky and wired, just like the doctor should be, so I can’t wait to see where this season will continue to.

Stranger Things

Stranger Things, Coffee n' Notes

The 80’s vibes and monsters, what’s not to love? I can’t wait for the season to start.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones

Jessica Jones

I am so hyped for this show, I love the dark story and the action. It’s a show that just had to enter the list.

So these are my top tv shows, in an overflowing list of great tv shows, hope you liked my list and I can’t wait to read what’s in yours 😀

What is your favorite TV show you’ve watched this year?

The Autumn Tag

Hey everyone, I hope you are having a great day, I’m a little sick right now but enjoying the timeout and the rest ❤

I always loved to post tags, they are so fun and always makes me happy seeing how other people answer. So, when I saw this cute tag over at Bournemouth Girl and I knew I have to do it. If you don’t know Lauren or her fun blog, go check her blog and don’t forget to say hello 😀

Grab a cup of coffee/tea and let’s start 🙂

1. What signifies the start of Autumn for you?

As soon as October arrives I know that autumn will follow, hehe. The days are becoming shorter and in the evenings there’s a cold breeze, even if the day was hot.

2. What is your favorite Autumn scent?

To be honest I don’t have any autumn specific candles but I do love the smell of cinnamon and vanilla during this time.

3. What is your favorite Autumn color?

I love greys for clothing in Autumn and this year I going to buy a few grey new clothing items, I can’t wait ❤

4. What is your favorite Autumn drink?

I love flavored coffee and tea and of course hot chocolates (come on… who can resist a yummy hot chocolate?).

5. What T.V. show new or old, are you looking forward to this Autumn?

Hmmm, I don’t have a specific TV show for this season, but I love The Good Place, The Big Bang Theory, Supernatural, and I can’t wait to watch Camping (I am looking forward to seeing it) ❤

6. What is your favorite Autumn fashion trend?

I’m very basic with my clothing. I love jeans with my brown boots and a grey or dark simple t-shirt and a jacket. Something like this 😀

7. What is your favorite Autumn activity?

Cozy evenings at home with my husband with a cup of tea, watching a movie together or a TV show ❤

8. What is your favorite make up look in Autumn weather?

I am not wearing much makeup but if I do it’s in the shades of brown or nudes.

9. What is your favorite Autumnal movie?

Omg, I love You’ve Got Mail and Pride and Prejudice.

10. Best way to spend a rainy day?

Wow. A rainy day at home always means writing, lol ❤ A cozy day inside with my laptop, writing, plotting and maybe watch friends, hehe. However, if my husband is at home than curled up under a blanket together watching something or gaming together 😀

What is your favorite Autumn activity?

As always, thank you so much for reading ❤

NaNoWriMo Prep: Using October to start writing again

Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing okay ❤

NaNoWriMo is less than a month away and October is the month to start writing again or just give yourself a boost of motivation to continue your on-going project. I am (still) in my editing phase so I will continue on with my own writing project in hopes to finally put a serious dent in my edits.

If you don’t know what NaNoWriMo is, then let me explain it to you… Nanowrimo is National Novel Writing Month that comes every year on November. In this nano month, you will try to write 50K in one month 😀 If you’re gasping of shock right now and thinking that it’s way too hard, then let me tell you that it is hard and it is madness, but that’s the entire fun of this. The point is to write and not think of what your novel will look like (that’s editing for).

Last year and a few years back I wrote a few NaNoWriMo Prep Posts that might spark your creativity and prepare you for what is coming, especially if you are new to Nanowrimo and not so familiar with what is Nanowrimo 😉

Here is my checklist, that helps me stay on track with my writing through Nanowrimo and preparing for it

Know what you gonna write about

Use this month to know what you’re going to write about. Try imagining your world, your characters, the theme of the entire plot. At first, it’s okay to write just a name, a place or a sentence of the plot. The more you write whatever comes to your mind the more good ideas will flow out and spark your Imagination and let it run wild.

Outline

I said this a lot but it’s true, outlining your novel truly helps, especially after the midpoint of your novel. So… Outline your nano novel as much as you can. My outline is about 40 pages and in many times more than 60 pages long (lol, wow… I need help). So do as much outlining as you can this month until you know all the characters, places, plots, and even some subplots 😉

Research

Don’t be lazy and do the work. Research about places, or people.
Listen to some conversation near you, hehe (I know it sounds weird and intrusive but it helps a lot) then, write down some key notes about what stood out in your eyes.
If your book is more on the sci/fi or Fantasy research about that subject, and try to create as many details as you can because when Nanowrimo arrive you will not have any time to do all this and you will have a much easier time writing down almost 2K a day, every day.

Connect

Go now to nano site and connect with other writers. you can find groups in your local area or just add writing buddies to help you be more motivated throughout the month, and do some sprints with them.

Take a break

In the week before nano or even just a couple of days before, take a break and enjoy your freedom, it will be your last chance for some free time for 30 days, hehe 😀

Embrace the madness

Don’t think of how it will turn out, no one has to see it. Enjoy the community and the madness of writing sprints with other writers and race towards your goal of writing 50,000 words a month. Ready to have some fun?

This what I do every year, and it helps me get on track when I feel stuck or just have fun and write with other writers out there, so I hope it will help you too.

After all, as writers we mostly tend to do our craft alone and once in a year it’s so much fun to just embrace the madness of Nano and enjoy the wonderful community ❤ Btw, I’ve made this for NaNoWriMo last year, to put on my phone and on my Instagram and other social media, feel free to download it and use it 😀

Link to download this cute nano picture here: Nanowrimo Pic 😀 Have fun downloading it and, I hope you’ll enjoy using it.

As always, thank you so much for reading ❤

Summer Is Here: 5 Reasons I Can Enjoy Summer

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a great summer ❤

A few weeks back I did a post of Why I will never be a summer person and I listed 10 reasons why, but now I want to share the things I do like about summer and there are a few of those I like, lol. I am still truly not a summer person, this extreme heat we’re having all summer is slowly killing me. But I had to do another post and share with you the 5 things I do enjoy throughout the summer.

Beautiful and Bright Colors

All the countryside is brown and yellow but in the summer a lot of items in stores are painted with beautiful bright colors. From gorgeous bright pink and yellow notebooks to many bright clothes and throw pillows, great nail colors… It always makes me smile looking at them 😉

Bright nails, Coffee n' Notes

Cold drinks (and Ice cream)

I love hot drinks, like a good hot cup of coffee/tea or even a yummy soup, but I enjoy a cold drink, especially in the summer. Cold ice coffee or a zero coke taste amazing in 38-49 degrees, more so when I am out of the house doing errands with my mom.

  • Sometimes when my mom and I are out and about we like to sit down and eat some yummy ice cream and drink some cold drink to help with the heat.

Ice Cream, Coffee n' Notes

An excuse for staying indoors

God, I use it a lot, lol. In the summer I hate going out of the air con, so in every chance, I get “I can’t go out, it’s too hot” I will use this excuse a lot, hehe (evil smirk).

Staying indoors, Coffee n' Notes

Beautiful sunsets

Okay, even I can’t say no to a gorgeous sunset 😀 I don’t know why but in the summer there are so many gorgeous sunsets, even from my small bedroom window I can see the beautiful and colorful sky at sunset. Just looking at one of these sunsets makes everything feels good inside ❤

Sunset, Coffee n' Notes

Longer days

The days are longer in the summer and there’s light even at 7pm which is amazing in my opinion. I can do more and the day end so late, I feel more accomplished even if I’m not that productive that day, hehe. If I get up at 6am and the night arrives at 8pm, I feel that I can do so much more in a day (more time to write or play, hehe) 😀

Pool, Coffee n' Notes

Well, these are the 5 things I do enjoy throughout the summer even if I am not a summer person ❤

What do you love about summer?

As always, thank you so much for reading ❤

10 Random Generated Questions

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great day ❤

I found this amazing and fun post over at Jenny In Wonderland and I ask her permission to do this post as well and she was so kind to say yes ❤ If you don’t know her blog you must go visit and say hello. You will instantly be in love with her writing and her blog posts that are so informative, fun and inspiring.

As she said in her post, I generated 10 random questions from this site and answered the first 10 questions. I got lucky because question #11 was something I really didn’t like at all. So I got lucky with the first 10, yay 🙂

So let’s start!

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Pizza! Well, gluten and dairy free pizza. Pizza is a very healthy choice 😉

What is your favorite thing about winter?

Omg, the cold air, rain and everything is so clear, beautiful and green.

What would you be doing if you were not here right now?

If I wasn’t blogging right now, I would be writing. I am not procrastinating… I promise.

Do you like to dance or sing?

I love them both. I’ve always love to sing and dance, I am not good at any of them and I sing very off key but I don’t care I still love it.

What is your favorite drink?

Coffee and Coka Cola Zero. Again not a healthy choice.

If you could give one piece of advice to the whole world, what would it be?

Be Kind. Stop being cruel to others just because they look, act or think differently than you, we are all the same.

Are you smarter than your parents?

No. Well… In some areas yes 😀

What is one thing that you would like to change about the world?

Make people understand that kindness is the only thing that truly makes peace and understanding.

Where do you work?

I am a writer (hopefully be a published author <3) and I work from home 😀

Do you keep a journal?

Yes, I have a few types of journals: Dream journal, morning pages, and bujo 🙂

What question would you, like to answer?

If you’re doing this tag, don’t forget to tag Jenny and me so we can see your amazing answers ❤

1000 Followers: Thank You So Much 🎉💕

Hey everyone, I hope you’re having a wonderful and productive day.

OMG, Thank You Everyone 😀

I feel so blessed and grateful and this made my week even with the anniversary my husband and I had 2 days ago, for our 14 years of marriage ❤

As we sat down and eat our anniversary cake I saw on my app that I’ve reached my first 1K, how amazing is that:D

I will not start from the beginning, as we already been there, but I will say that I’ve been blogging on and off for 3 years and I still love it. Since I am helping my mom with her health life became immensely hectic and stressful as you all know, but I still want to push myself and to be a better blogger – After all you deseve that from me ❤ A few months back I planned what I really want to achieve and with everything that is going on, I mapped out how can I achieve my goals. one of my big goals for July I kept secret, I wanted to reach my first 1000 followers and have a stronger communication with you all ❤

I am so happy that my efforts are shown and that feels beyond amazing. Breaking this first 1K wall was very hard for me and mostly because I didn’t put the time to do something about it. I want not only to publish my first book (which means finishing my editing, hehe), but also grow this blog and feel like we are in this together – In life and in achieving what we want 😀

Thank you again for being so amazing and staying with me even when my life got too hectic to post. You are truly my inspiration and part of the reasons I get up every day ❤

1K, Happy, Coffee n' Notes
