Writer’s Log: What My Clutter Say About Me?

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a good weekend ❀

Today’s post is a reply of some sort to a video I saw about minimalism and clutter. What would my clutter say about me? OMG. The thought of it alone is too much sometimes.

As Ronald said in his video, people in our life that love us… Mostly if not totally will say kind and wonderful things about us, but clutter will never lie and clutter will tell the honest truth even if it’s the last thing I want to hear, hehe. Btw, you should really watch his videos they are so informative and fun to watch πŸ™‚

As I go through our belongings and sort our things of what to keep, donate or throw away, I see how it slowly changes my thoughts about our ‘Stuff’ but I never gave a thought of what the clutter could say about me, but I think that in my heart I knew.

So here are a few things Clutter would say about me if he could, lol:

  • I am trying to please people and not myself.
  • I try to live someone’s else’s life.
  • I buy too many things I don’t really love or need when I’m too stressed and overwhelmed.
  • I use clutter as some sort of protection (now this was a huge wow moment for me as I wrote it down in my journal… HUGE).

After realizing these things and understanding that I don’t want these things to be said about me, even if they are the truth of some sort, I still need this to change. I now have a better understanding of how clutter represents me and how I want my life to be.

This clutter that surrounds us all in some form is just another coping mechanism to the stuff that happens to us if its stress or sadness or any negative feeling we might feel. Even by just understanding this little bit already helps to put things in a better perspective and that leads to a better understanding of what I want to accomplish by decluttering this or that room. It makes things much easier to remove the items I kept holding onto “just in case” and move forward to the life I want for myself and for my family.

Anyways, just some random thoughts I wanted to share with you in this short post.

What your clutter would say about you?

As always, thank you so much for reading ❀

The Minimalism Challenge (Game)

Hey everyone, I hope you are all having a nice day ❀

I saw a few (or a lot) youtube videos about minimalism and now, I know a lot about it and I know that it is not for me, hehe. Both I and my husband are some sort of hoarders (in a small scale of course). I collect lots of books, pens, and notebooks πŸ˜€

In my last post, I talked about creating 6 habits before 2019 and one of the habits is decluttering. I am working on decluttering my home, my computer and even my blog Don’t know if you’ve noticed btw, but I’ve changed the blog header picture and I am so happy with how it turned up. The blue picture worked great and I love it but I wanted a cleaner look to my blog, and it came out nicely ❀

This is the old one

Anyway, back to the challenge…

Even though we will never live the minimal life, we still have too much stuff and I want to declutter our home, so I thought this minimalism challenge game could be a nice and fun way to declutter. Basically what you do is on the first day of the month you declutter 1 item, on the second day, you declutter 2 items and so on, until the end of the month. So overall you are decluttering 465 items in 30 days. Now that sounds like a lot and it is a lot but I need this decluttering in order to get back into my habits of organizing and decluttering.

I just started this game a week and a half ago, lol, but I already decluttered 172 items. This month I am cleaning out our entire closet room, so I know I will find more things to declutter. I want to do this next month as well and after that, I will do a daily declutter so that way, we’ll only keep the things that will bring us joy and happiness and not keep any item just for the sake of keeping it, or because someone has gifted something to us that we don’t even like.

I am even going to declutter my pens, notebooks, and books, I know that there are some books in my bookshelves that I will never read ever again and that I barely enjoyed them on the first time I’ve read them, so they can go to a new home πŸ™‚

Wish me luck with all the decluttering and feel free to join if you want πŸ˜€

How do you declutter your home when you need to?

6 Habits to create Before 2019

Hey everyone, I hope you’re doing well this week ❀

Sorry, I didn’t put any posts this week, but I’m back πŸ˜€ Before we enter 2019 (and I can’t believe 2018 is almost over) I want to change a few things even earlier and try to build some good habits that will continue on to the new year. So, after lots of thought and tons of planning here are the 6 habits I want to build for 2019 and for life.

IΒ  hope you’ll get inspired and try to build a new habit for yourself that will help you with your goals and to achieve your dreams πŸ˜€

Declutter

Remove those items that in the end only help you stay where you are right now and not where you could be. Declutter your things in your home, your office and even your car in a way to you will keep only the items that bring you joy, that will help you grow and be where you want to be. Remove the wrong people that are still in your life. Sometimes the people around us are not the right people that we should have.

Start now

Implement small steps, small action towards your end game goals. Plant those amazing seeds that will soon grow into greater value. Start that project you always wanted, read that book you wished you’ve read or learn a language you always dreamt of knowing. They say that even by starting, showing up for that goal every dayΒ will bring you to your end game soon enough. You want to learn a language? Open that app every day – even if there will be times that you will just close the app immediately but there will be more times that you will learn for 5 minutes, 10 minutes and do more towards your dream goal.

Reflect

This is a new habit I’ve started these past few months and it’s amazing, it changed a lot of how I look at things. I try to journal a lot (weekly) and reflect on my days and my week to see how I feel and what I did and most importantly, how I acted.

Space

Create the space that will help you create, hehe. Make a space that you’ll actually be excited to be in and start your dream project. Clean, organize and decorate this space in a way that will inspire you daily and each day when you wake up you can’t wait just to be in that space you’ve created and work on your goals.

Be active

It’s good to be healthy and do our daily workout like going for a walk or a run, biking, yoga or going to the gym… These are all great example of living with a healthy mindset, but when I say being more active it’s not just about our body, but also being active with our mind. Stop blaming people and events in your life, and start finding solutions.

(I’ve been reacting to life for far too long and as I planed my 6 months, I noticed that even while I plan I still plan as if I am reacting to the things that might happen and not truly acting on the things I want. So I started changing this mindset as I plan my days and find a solution to a problem that might come up and find the ways I can work around an event and still work towards my goals).

Learn

Learn the skill you know you’ll need in order to achieve your end goal. For example, if you want to publish a book, take 20 minutes and learn about the business of being a published author and about the art of writing that book. You can learn any skill as long as you show up and do the work.

Plan your end game – Take a moment to think, If you were at your best every day and every month where are you after 6 months with your goals and your dreams? Truly think of this as you plan your month and even your day.

19 Before 2019

Hey everyone, I hope you are all having a great weekend ❀

I am feeling tons better and it finally rained here and a lot. It was amazing, our first real rain storm and it felt great. I love the smell of rain and how everything looks so beautiful and crisp after the rain.

We have only 2 and a half month before 2019 and I truly want to do a few more things before the end of the year. I saw this 19 before 2019 circling around the internet and I thought I would give it a try. Now I am sure that most of you know just how much I love a good list (hehe) and so of course, I’ve made myself a list of 19 things I want to finish, do, or continue doing before 2019.

Here are my 19 things I want to do before 2019

  1. Read 10 books πŸ˜€
  2. Finish outlining the series, enough with the dilly-dally.
  3. Declutter the entire kitchen (I can’t wait to do this, maybe even this Tuesday) πŸ˜‰
  4. Declutter the entire closets room (I am so dreading this one).
  5. Start doing yoga (again – daily).
  6. Win Nanowrimo.
  7. Write in December.
  8. Let go of any toxic, unsupportive people in my life (started on this already, it feels amazing).
  9. Blog 3 times a week (already on it) πŸ˜€
  10. Journal daily.
  11. Drink more water (2L) I started a monthly challenge to drink 2L of water everyday πŸ™‚
  12. Consum less and create more (I’ve taken a break from my social media for a bit so I can write and edit more).
  13. Meditate every evening before bed (already started on this).
  14. Sleep more (at least 6-8 hours a day).
  15. Once a week, pick a day to pamper yourself and do some self-care (oh how much I need this) ❀
  16. Pick after myself every day and put things where they belong.
  17. Try coloring again or just doodling, I missed it.
  18. Continue learning a language or two (I took a small break but I already continuing learning) πŸ˜‰
  19. Be a better friend to other and be kinder to myself ❀

Well, this is my very long and a bit weird list, lol. Hope you all got inspired and maybe even make your own list of things you wish to accomplish before 2019.

What would you like to accomplish before 2019 is here?

As always, thank you so much for reading ❀
