November MoodBoard

Hey all, I saw the November Moodboard over at Aloma Writes, and I knew I just had to do this ❤ I asked her if I could do this post and she kindly said yes (yay me ).

If you don’t know who is Ashleigh or her gorgeous blog, go check it out and don’t forget to say hello:D She is such a kind and sweet person and her blog is so pretty and fun, I know you’ll love her posts.

November Mood

November reminds me of rain, a good book and yummy hot drinks (mostly coffee and spiced teas, hehe). My favorite colors in autumn are brown and pastel colors ❤ And I will hang twinkly lights everywhere (already started on that) 😀

My mood has changed completely, lol. My goal is to be more relaxed and not feel so overstressed as I do on most days. I’m drawn to tarot cards such as the Medicine animal and the Animal spirits, even my mood in music changed and I am more into chill music and rain sounds 😉 ❤

As always, thank you so much for reading ❤

Older and Wiser (I hope)

Hey everyone, it’s been awhile since I posted anything but book reviews (sorry for that). Life has been way too busy with my mom entering the hospital every few weeks, my health, and life itself. Things aren’t so easy right now, but I’m sure they will be easier soon 🙂

On a more positive note… It’s my BIRTHDAY! TODAY! (and happy birthday to all the June girls and boys out there <3).

After I lived on this earth for a long time and I got a bit of experience in life, and because this birthday I did more thinking than celebrating, lol (my mom is in the hospital), I did a lot of thinking.

After giving a real hard though, I managed to put down on paper a list of a few important things I’ve learned from life so far.

So here what I’ve learned so far

Be yourself: This one is hard because we all want to be loved by others and to fit in, and sometimes being yourself is going to make things very hard for you, but it’s the only way to live. So don’t try to copy other or be something else for others, it’s a hard way to live.

Be Kind to yourself and others: I always tried to be kind and nice to others even though sometimes it’s more than difficult, lol. However, being kind to myself is even harder. This one I must say I learn very late in life and at some days, I’m still struggling, especially when I’m too stressed.

Sleep: We all want to achieve a lot. We will cut our sleeping hours to accomplish more. However sleeping less makes us angry, stressed (and I speak from experience here, lol), hungry and moody. But just this simple act of sleeping 6-8 hours a day, really do their miracle.

People never change (in most cases): People are people. People can change a bit for good or bad, but they will never change as much as you might wish them to. Controlling people to change who they are or hoping they will change in the future, will never happen and this will not do any good to either one of you. Know that people are set in their own ways and they will never change just because you want them to. If a change is really needed, they need to want it and understand how and why they need to change all by themselves.

Knowing reality: I hear people around me always saying “it’s not fair” about something in their life. Life is life, and things are as they are. When you are arguing with someone, don’t use their words against them just to show them you can. Let things go… and if you must fight, fight nicely.

I’m a writer: If I ever publish my work or not I am still a writer, and no one can take that away from me. This is simple but it’s still something I sometimes struggle understanding. If in some miracle I’ll get to publish my work that would be amazing (even beyond amazing), but if I won’t that doesn’t mean, I’m not a writer. I will enjoy writing even when I’m at my 90’s.

I am a writer 😀

Now, Obviously I still need to work on a lot of things on this list and that’s okay. It was really helpful to write these thoughts down and share them with you.

What would you add to this list?

Off to celebrate (with a good night sleep, lol, I’m too exhausted), but have a nice glass of a yummy drink (of your choice) for me ❤ Thank you so much for all the thoughtful birthday wishes on my social media, you made my day!

Ps. check out this beautiful drawing Jasmine did for my birthday (she even added a glimpse of my books) ❤

As always, thank you so much for reading ❤

Goodbye 2015: Reflections and Goals

Goodbye2015It’s only a few hours before the New Year arrives and it seems as if the world stops and waits for it to come, lol.

This post will be long (sorry for that), so grab yourself something yummy, a fluffy blanket and relax as you read through this post 🙂

Reflection On 2015

For me, 2015 went by in a flash, I could barely calm myself down and enjoy a month, and the second month jumped in front of me. Soon enough it’s the end of the year. Looking back at 2015, I recognized some of my wrongs and some of the things I did well.

These 4 months were a good start of the year. I did struggle a bit with my writing but I managed to write a lot. I was very focused on my goals and I had minimum distractions.

This blog was still relatively new and I learned so much through blogging and through the wonderful people here.

I feel like a broken record saying this, but you guys are more than amazing to me (really). You have an amazing power to lift my spirit and these gifts I always take with me in my everyday life.

These 2 months were extremely good. I was on the right track and I knew what I want from my writing, home, and blog. I managed to do a lot of work and it made me feel productive and efficient.

Well, life got a lot more complicated, fast.

My mom had chosen to get out of her house and go to a Home. It was a hard transition for us all and tons more work, lol 😀 To tell you the truth, I felt more than overwhelmed and stressed.

I tried to do so much in a short period of time and it was just a matter of time until I will hit that wall. Summer is hard for me, anyways and I wasn’t used being so active at summer time.

I am very happy though that I have the opportunity to help my mom and be there for her, mostly because I get to know my mom as she is now and as I am now (both adults), but I did need to learn to take care of myself better.

In these 5 months, I did learn a lot about my writing and how I can write fast and everywhere 😉 It’s true that this is not always my best writing (I can always edit later), but as long as I’m writing, everything is okay 🙂

The editing part is hard for me, I have yet learned how to do it if I’m not at home, sitting by my desk with headphones on (with white noise playing).

Wow, what a month this is. I am sick for almost the entire month, lol. Did nothing but sleep most of the time.

2015 Goals

Saying goodbye to 2015, is a lot easier than other years, lol.

Even though I’ve learned so much this year, it’s still has been a very hectic and stressful year. I could easily say that this year was a bit too much for me and I wouldn’t mind if next year would be a little bit less busy (or crazy) 😉

Here is my Goodbye 2014, if you want to travel a year back (just click on the picture) 😀

My Goals (or plans) for 2015 were: Finish Immortal Earth, Book #1 (The Earth Legacy Series) and even finish editing it as well.

I did finish writing the first draft, but I didn’t start editing it.

I bought a few books about editing, writing and about the business behind the writer/author. Took lots of notes, listened to some awesome podcasts and even watched a few great YouTube videos. Did tons of research so I will know my craft better 😉

Planning & Time Management

I was always good with planning but I was less good with the whole time management thing, lol. Luckily I’ve learned a lot (and still learning) about time management and how to plan things better.

I am so lucky to have such wonderful bloggers who helped me with their posts about this subject and watch some great YouTubers who helped me plan my months and days better and be more efficient and utilize better the tools I have (my planner, the old pen and paper, my phone and even if I want, my tablet) 😀

Wow, this one was hard and tons of fun 😀

I tried to blog 3 times a week, some weeks I blogged more but most of the time I blogged three or less. I have enjoyed experimenting with some features and types of posts and I hope that I will be doing much better next year.

“Books must be treated with respect, we feel that in our bones because words have power. Bring enough words together they can bend space and time.”
Terry Pratchett

I happy to say that this year, I’ve read more than I planned to read. I wish I could have read more but there were weeks I couldn’t read at all.

I miss books so much and it’s true that I can continue on reading on my tablet or phone, but I miss the touch and smell of a new book.

Health and Fitness

Sadly, here I haven’t succeeded at all. I did try my best to eat healthier but as the stress built up, I went back to my old bad habits 😦 I need to learn to handle this better. I think I did well with my goal to stay positive and think positive. I do try to go by this rule every day 😀

Wow, we reach the end 😀 If you made it until the end, you are amazing ❤ If you didn’t, you are still amazing 😉

As always, thank you so much for reading ❤

Blog Party

It’s A Blog Party

For those who celebrate Halloween, Happy spooky Halloween to you all, and to those of you who do not Happy and Relaxed Weekend.

So… I am starting this new monthly feature called Blog Party or as many bloggers call it, link party.

What you need to do is just link your favorite post, your last post or any other post or site of yours (only once please), down in the comments section so others can go and read your post or just visit your site. This party will go on until tomorrow’s next post, so you’ll have enough time to plug your book, your site or your post 😉

It’s like shameless self-promotion, lol, that I more than welcome today 😀

So have fun, grab yourself a cupcake or a nice drink. Sit back and enjoy the party here at Coffee n’ Notes 🙂

To make this party even bigger, I ask you (if you can <3) to share this on your social sites as well, so that everyone will have a chance to be visited or even followed ❤

So let’s start this party and have fun 😀 ❤

Life In Words

When I was a kid (and even now) people liked to tell me to get a life. To pull my nose out of the books and start living. I guess they never understood that I already had a full life, a life in words.

I remember the first words that sprung my imagination and made me see things beyond the black letters plainly written on the white page. They were words that made me hear music, words that made me smell sweet and wonderful smells and words that made me see the magic for the first time.

All this started when my mom used to read me short poems almost every night and with her soft almost hypnotic tone I was deep in my imagination and saw nothing but life in the words she read so beautifully.

When I looked at the page trying hard to make the letters and start reading, the letters danced in front of me, taunting with my eyes as I looked at them again and again. From random letters, I could imagine a new poem, a secret poem that only I knew and I alone. I saw the words take life, acting a scene of magical beauty. When I was older I already knew the secret, a secret that others couldn’t see and it made it even more special for me.

No matter how much my friend tried and no matter how much I tried to show her, she never seemed to see it and feel it. It felt as if an entire world was concealed from her, she read the words but they felt plain or ordinary to her.

I never understood why.

Why can’t she see how much life exist in a simple word? A word like ‘lullaby’ takes form in front of me. Dancing to hushed tunes, or a little fairy floating on colorful flowers in a secret garden. A simple word as a ‘chair’ shows so much proud and respect, such simplicity, and glory. It seemed as if the word itself is bursting with movement and joy and life.

To her, it was just a word and nothing more. To me, it was as if they were alive.

It really fascinates me every time that there are people out there who can’t feel and see the life in words, can’t see anything beyond the written letter and their meaning. Now that I am all grown up, I know it’s ok that they can’t see beyond that.

Now I know how I can show them my secret and hopefully, they will see beyond and feel the life and excitement in the letters, the same way I see them.

I can feel the words, flying all around me, dancing in all the colors of the rainbow, singing in my ear. I feel their warmth or coldness and I know they are alive just waiting to be discovered like a magical unicorn so rare, yet so precious.

This just who I am, I guess 🙂

What do words mean to you? I would love to hear your thoughts and I hope this post wasn’t too weird for you 😉

Thank you so much for reading ❤

New Buy: My Writing Desk

Well, after public demands to show pictures of my writing desk, I thought I must show you my new writing space, so here it is 😀

I first wanted to say how happy I am that you really want to see silly things like that… I love it ❤

I hope you like the pictures (sorry it came a bit dark).

Hubby built this desk on Friday and after I reorganized the room today and set everything in the right place, I took a few pics to post them here for you ❤

In the picture, you can see that I have a huge monitor and my laptop. I use them both mostly in my editing, although I love using them for writing as well but not all the time.

I have a simple but perfect desk lamp, I am so happy that I bought it, it’s perfect.

I have 3 notebooks on my desk which I use a lot:

  • My writing notebook: I use it to take notes, or write a sudden plot that came to mind, anything and everything about my story can go in this notebook.
  • My dream journal: I don’t need to explain here much, right?
  • My doodle notebook: I call it a doodle notebook, but it’s for everything I want to draw, sketch and doodle to free my mind when I need it.

I also have my weekly & monthly planner.

I have a small jar, that once contained soaps, that I use for my pens and highlighters 🙂 My favorite pens are there as well as few regular ones, mostly blue and red. They were once scattered inside my purse and in my closet, lol.

I can’t live without having post-its by my side, I use them a lot!

I have my coffee on my desk, usually, I have my coffee in my owl mug (that I love so much) but today I used this one, to keep my coffee hot.

Finally, I love the little footstool I placed under the table to put my feet up when I’m thinking or just writing with pen and paper (I used it before when I wrote in the kitchen).

This desk is simple, but perfect for me and what makes it even more awesome is that it’s my space. It’s not in the living room or in the kitchen, and as I set everything in its place I already feel that this little desk is my own writing place.

All I need to make this space even more perfect for my needs is a good chair. I have some thoughts about what kind of chair I want (something like an executive chair). I also hope to find a big cork board to hang above my desk.

I can’t stress enough the importance of having your own space for your craft. This little space is mine and it is already very inspiring.

Thank you so much for reading ❤
