Cancer and Other Things

Hey everybody, I hope all is well on your side and that you are having a wonderful Tuesday.

For me, it’s been crazy 2-3 months. My mom was ill a lot and at the hospital for most of October and November. After a few tests, they found out that she is having a huge problem with her liver. Luckily she’s started treatment a few weeks ago πŸ™‚

After another time in the hospital, they did a CT for her lungs and they found a 5 centimeters lump in her right lung. My mom did a biopsy and the results came fast (too fast).

The results were that… My mom has lung cancer…

Wow, seeing these words in black and white is so weird with so many mixed feelings. Some days, it seems just unreal that my mom has to go through another illness and fight for her life again, but she is so strong. I know that no matter what the universe will throw at her, she will get out of it, stronger than before.

Now, after about 2 weeks we have an appointment today and tomorrow with two oncologists, but we still need to do a PET-CT in order to know how to treat her. I hope that we can find a way to do this as soon as possible. I told very little people in my life, lol, but the few I have told were very supportive and not too dramatic over this. It helps a lot.

Things are a bit crazy right now and I don’t get to blog as often as I want, I’m truly sorry for that. Blogging, writing and even reading seems like a luxury I can’t afford right now. But, I wanna thank you all for sticking with me and my blog, even though I’m not posting as often as before. I love you all so much and I miss our little talks, more than you’ll ever know ❀ So thank you for being here with me and making me smile when things are a bit too crazy.

P.s. To those that I have promised a book review, please don’t think I have forgotten you. I’m just reading very slowly right now (very slowly, lol), but I will finish the reviews (just later than I intended, sorry).

Soon, things will get even busier than before, when my mom will start her treatments, but keep an eye on my social media like Twitter and Instagram, I will try to post more updates here as well.

Thank you so much for reading ❀

  1. My mom has cancer too, terminal. I hope that your mom’s cancer was caught early enough. My prayers go out to you. I can relate to not telling a lot of people.

    1. I am so sorry dear.
My mom is stage 3b and we do hope they can do something about it.
Thank you hun and I send out lots of prayers for you, your mom and your family. I told very few, still. And I think it’s for the best.

  2. Galit, I am so sorry to hear about your mom’s lung cancer and I really do know what you’re going through. I went through the same thing with my mother. Hearing news like that does put a lot of things into perspective. Blogging and social media in general all go on hold, and even the writing we love to do. Put your trust in the medical staff, who will work tirelessly to do their best for your mom. As Annabelle (above comment) said, cancer treatment is so much more successful nowadays. I realise I’m late with this comment, and things will already have moved on, so I can only hope the progress has been good. ❀
