The Reader Problems Tag

readertag

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a good day 🙂

Long long time ago, I was tagged by the wonderful Rawls to do this fun tag. Sorry, it took so long to get to it, but I am happy to do it and it was such a fun tag. With everything that is going on in my life, all my tags and challenges were put aside, but I am so glad to be able to do it now.

Thanks again, so much ❤

Q: You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next?

I pick my books by the mood I am having at that moment 😉

Sherlock

Q: You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you quit or commit?

I used to force myself to keep on reading but now… If the book just can’t keep me reading, I will stop. It’s sad when it happens, but reading for me is fun and enjoyment and I will not force myself to read something that I can’t connect to. Sometimes I can go back to the book and maybe give it another go, but much later. But mostly this is how I feel when I need to stop…

Q: The end of the year is coming and you’re so close yet so far away on your GoodReads challenge. Do you quit or commit?

I used to be great at reading a lot of books in a month and in a year, but not now. I still try to put some sort of yearly reading goals, in hopes to achieve them… will see 😉

Q: The covers of a series you love DO. NOT. MATCH. How do you cope?

It’s horrible and I hate when they do that. WHY? Why do they do this to me?

Q: Everyone and their mother love a book you really don’t like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings?

I would blog about it or just share a short review on Goodreads and read other Goodreads reviews of 1-2 stars, lol.

Q: You’re reading a book and you’re about start crying in public. How do you deal?

I never read outside, as I hate taking my beauties out, lol.

Q: A sequel of a book you loved just came out, but you’ve forgotten a lot from the prior novel. Will you re-read the book? Skip the sequel? Try to find a summary on GoodReads? Cry in frustration?

I love re-reading my books. When a sequel is coming out I will start re-reading the first book and continue with the next one.

Q: You don’t want ANYONE borrowing your books. How do you politely tell people “nope” when they ask?

Everyone in my life knows well not to even ask me for a book because I’m not giving. If someone will ask, I will bluntly say No! I love my shiny book to stay pretty and perfect (I know I’m a bit too obsessive, but I don’t care)  ❤

Q: You’ve picked up and put down five different books in the past month. How do you get over the reading slump?

I recently got into a reading slump and what helps me a lot is to read a few books at a time, this way I do not bored easily and I get to enjoy many stories at once, lol.

Q: There are so many new books coming out that you are dying to read! How many do you actually buy?

I wish I could buy all the books, lol. Sadly with the low budget I have, I can buy very little (about 2 to 5 new books a year).

Q: After you’ve bought a new book you want to get to, how long do they sit on your shelf until you actually read them?

I read it at the same day I bought it. I have very few books that “just sit” on my shelf. I currently have a bit over 500 books and I didn’t read about 10 books or less, lol. As soon as buy I must start reading it and if it’s that good, I will finish it that same day or a day after 😀

Wow, that is all of this tag. Some of the questions were hard to answer but still had fun answering them 🙂 Feel free to answer on some (or all) of the question in comments below or even give this tag a try.

As always, thank you so much for reading ❤

  1. I like to keep my books perfect & shiny too. 🙂 I made the mistake of letting my cousin borrow a book. What she gave me back wasn’t even my original book. Turns out she lost it, then went to a used book place to buy me a new one. So pissed! It bothered me so much that after some time, I couldn’t stand it any longer and took that book to Goodwill and bought a new shiny one! Lol! And now I have lost that book in the middle of moving. 😦 That title just does not have good luck with me. 😦

    1. Omg, I hate that. It happened to me as well where I let someone take my book and it came back half eaten but cats, lol. I bought a new book, lol, I just couldn’t put that book on my shelf, had to buy a new one 😀
I hope that next time it will stay for life ❤

      1. I really don’t understand why they wouldn’t keep the mangled one and buy you a new one. Unless, they really didn’t have the money… I’d be more forgiving then but probably not lend them any new, shiny books.

  2. This was an entertaining read! I particularly like the question about crying in public. I once made the mistake of taking a funny book to read while waiting to see the doctor, and I started crying in the waiting room – with laughter! The other people waiting thought I was crazy, but by the time it was my turn I didn’t feel like I needed to see the doctor anymore. They do say laughter is the best medicine! 😀

  3. I’m glad you enjoyed this tag, Galit! ❤ I like your answers. I too don’t like letting people borrow my books because they come back damaged. Cover series should always match, I agree. (love the gif you put there 😀 ).
I have quite a pile of books on my shelf too that I need to read, but I’m so slow getting to them, lol. 🙂
Thank you for doing this challenge. ❤
