Top Ten Tuesday : Top Ten Favorite Heroines

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish in which you make a list of ten to do with a certain topic. This weeks topic is “Top Ten Favorite Heroines From Books”. I saw it first at Kath from The Last Reader and I really wanted to do this 🙂

So… Here is my list, hope you like it ❤

Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

I love this character so much, she is so strong and she will only accept true love. Just the way I felt all my life. I always thought that true love is just not possible, but I guess I was wrong, lol.

Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling.

Hermione is a strong character in the life of Harry Potter and her motivation and determination helped Harry in every step he took. She may not be the main character but without her, I don’t think there was a book and I don’t that Harry could go as far as he did without her help.

Buffy Summers from the TV show Buffy.

I love how strong she is on the show, but also so real. She may have powers that make her unique but I like the way she sees life even with all the evil around her.

Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan from the TV show Bones.

She is brilliant and wonderful. I love how she sees life from her point of view, I relate to her too much, lol. She sees life as facts but also, love and friendship and she has no judgment on how people are.

Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

Katniss is such a real girl that been thrown into the unusual situation. No magical powers just a few abilities, tons of inner strength and a strong will to survive. She fights hard for what is right and very loyal to her friends.

Celaena Sardothien from Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas’s.

I have only started to read the first book, not long ago but I already fell in love with her. Celaena is such a strong female protagonists with mad skills. I love her character and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books.

Veronica Mars from the TV show Veronica Mars.

I really love her attitude in the show. No matter how bleak things may come, she finds a way to smile and overcome them. She is strong and determined to find the truth.

Anne Frank.

Don’t think I need to explain this little girl and why she is so strong and amazing.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë.

Jane may look uncaring but she is full of love and determination to be what she wants. To be free and to build her future the way she wants, no matter how others may see her.

Beatrice Prior from the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth.

Beatrice wants to change her fate and is willing to do a lot to achieve it and she is such an inspiration for that. She fights hard for what she wants and I loved seeing her grow. She, like other heroines I love so much, is fearlessness and strong and has a good sense of what is really right.

So this is my list, have you read any of these books? What heroines would you choose for this week? Feel free to write in the comments below 🙂

Thank you so much for reading ❤

  1. Great list! The only one I don’t know Celaena because I’m ashamed I haven’t read the a Throne of a Glass books yet. I swear I will before the end of the year! So, borrowing heavily from your list, my heroines would be: Hermione, Elizabeth Bennett, Anne Frank, Katniss, Buffy, and Temperance. Then there’s Eve Dallas from J.D. Robb’s In Death series, Annabeth from the Percy Jackson series, Anne Shirley from the Anne of Green Gable series, and Eowyn from The Lord of the Rings. Phew. This was tough.

  2. I love this list! Veronica Mars is the best! Our lists nearly match except I would have thrown in Fanny Price from Mansfield Park.

  3. Great list. I would have Buffy at the top.I absolutely loved that show, mainly because she was one of the first strong female characters that I really encountered. I think the way she was written and developed was amazing. I still follow the series in graphic novel form now.

And I seriously need to read Jane Eyre… :/

    1. Didn’t do it by any order of importance. I loved buffy so much that I watch the entire show a few times from start to finish, lol. I started not long ago to buy the graphic version of buffy and I love he writes Buffy there. Jane Eyre is so well written and I loved the mini show as well, lol.

  4. Great list!
I can never decide whom or what to put on a top ten list, as I always end up leaving someone or something out. As for heroines ,Michonne from TWD would definitely be one of my choices and Wydrin from Jennifer Williams’s The Copper Promise, and The Iron Ghost (although I am yet to read the latter.)
